I really liked my fiction piece out of all the other pieces I did this year. Being a fiction writer, I had to know what the character feels. I started my piece off with the character and setting. To write this piece, I had to create new characters, which believe me, was easier said than done. I wrote events that led from small moment to small moment and that led to the climax. Throughout the entire piece I made a story map and added to it to outline my story. Also I had to know the characters longings and struggles. When fiction writers write a story, they have to let the reader clearly know what the character wants and the obstacles that stand in their way. In addition, I had to resolve the story so there were no loose ends. This was my favorite piece, because I could relate to it.
As a writer, I felt that I have become better with my writing. The thing that I felt that I have improved most was writing dialog. When writers write dialog, they have to show what the character is doing to make it interesting. Also, I felt that I improved writing my character’s obstacles well.
